a big thank you

These were the hit of the day today
We tried them on our toes - that was funny and it tickled!
OH and our new boat - that they wanted mommy to wind and wind and wind over and over again, Thank you~

What better timing than to get a great birthday present on a rainy day!

A huge Thank you to Aunt Allyson, Uncle James, Jack and Scott for all of the boys presents yesterday!  It kept us very occupied this afternoon!  The boys were soooo amazed by the bath fingerpaints!  (Little do they know Santa has them for them too!)  We are stocked up for the winter now!  After the bath they wore their new jammies too (but my camera battery died of course!)

big boy beds, colds, and markers

I can't figure out why blogger is doing this!  Every time I try to type above my pictures I get it in blue and with an underline....any ideas anyone???
Anyway, last night the boys got new markers from Aunt Allyson, Uncle James, Jack and Scott.  Charlie immediately spotted the gift bag first thing this morning.  So here is what the boys were doing at a lovely 7:15 this morning!  I hadn't even had my coffee yet!  But in all fairness, they did sleep late because when the boys are with Jack and Scott all they do is laugh and laugh at them.  Jack is 7 and Scott is 5 and they think its great to make Charlie and Zachary laugh by doing stupid things.  I can't wait to see what their house is gonna look like in 2 years when their daughter Baily will be about two (she's arriving on the 18th, I can't wait!).  

And the boys have moved into "BIG BOY BEDS".  No they were not fully climbing out of their cribs - yet.  Charlie had done in once - actually the day after the beds arrived.  We had ordered the beds so that they could get used to them and do the transition SLOWLY.  There just isn't too much slow about these two.  Down came the cribs and the boys moved into their beds!  They are doing awesome!  We put them in an L position so they could be right near each other.  Sometimes they end up lying right next to each, sometimes on the same bed, and other times they sleep just where we've left them.....especially at bedtime.  Naptime, however, is a different story!  I frequently hear pounding on the walls and every so often Charlie will knock on the door to come out!  Its funny to sit and listen to actually.  

I need to take more pictures, I've been slacking!  

Apples

Every year Marc and I make Apple pies for Thanksgiving.  This year the boys joined in on the pie making!  I think they sampled almost every apple we had before we peeled them for the pies!  Good thing no one was sick - a little germies won't hurt anyone!  

What a day!

We had such a busy day today!

Here's our day in reverse order though because I always forget how to put the pictures up!

Above the boys are dancing to the Life is Good cd Daddy made for them.  They love to dance to it, and its sooo much fun to watch!

I made playdough today for the first time!  So easy and no yucky smell like the kind you buy in the store!  When I made their handprints - both boys made those "oooo" faces!  They thought I was so amazing!  LOL  I love watching them discover these new things.  (I know I say that all the time....)

I tried on their Christmas jammies today.  I couldn't get a good picture of them but this smile of Charlie's is just awesome, even with Zach's back in the way because you can tell they were laughing at each other!

                                                      Then onto the painting (which was actually the first thing this morning - at a lovely 9 am!  We used paint brushes for the first times....and hands too!

me and you

Today Charlie (above) had discovered the words "me" and "you" and how to use them correctly.  Its really cute.  He'll walk up to me and say "you" and then point to himself and say "me".  He continues on with pointing to Zachary and saying "Zachy" and then on to "Molly".  Its amazing because I have no idea where they get it from!  Its like "pop" its in their heads!  

In the above picture, he is saying cheese - but he's not so fond of the camera of late!  
Whereas Zach just plops his little self down and says "cheese" and smiles!  
Bouncing away after eating lunch, trying to burn off a little energy before nap!  They were so good this morning!  We had a very mellow morning just straightening up and doing laundry - they love to "help".  This afternoon because its not SUPER cold out, we may bundle up and go run in the backyard a bit!  We all need a little fresh air!  

bad week

Nothing new really....Charlie was pretty sick with high fevers for a few days.   Zach didn't have a fever but was acting the same - just wanted to veg and watch tv with Mommy on the couch.  I've got the winter blues already and its only November.  I really need to get out of the house more.  Just so much going on in my head....   I want to just be with the boys and not have things to think about.  Why can't life be easy?

treasuring moments

Lots of tragedies around here this week. It started with a fellow member of http://www.cafemom.com/ who was hit by a drunk driver with her two young children in the car - all three were killed. Then a friend of mine...her sister in law went in to have a scheduled c-section, only to find the baby had died. It really makes you sit back and realize all that you have and treasure every single moment with your children and family. I love my boys - all three of them - very much. Here they are watching Blue's Clue's tonight before bed.
